Petit Family Foundation Grant for the Susan B. Anthony Project

The Petit Family Foundation announced a $5,000 grant to the Susan B. Anthony Project to further one of their missions to “…protect and help those affected by violence”.  Founded in 1983, Susan B. Anthony Project works to promote the autonomy of women and the safety of all victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence in northwest Connecticut as well as to promote community action toward ending domestic violence and sexual abuse. Based in Torrington, Susan B. Anthony Project provides services, free of charge, in 20 towns in Litchfield County.

Dr. William A. Petit Jr., President of the Petit Family Foundation, stated, “We are proud to extend our outreach to survivors of violence in the northwest corner of our state.  The work done by the Susan B. Anthony Project is done with great care and love”.

Barbara Spiegel, Executive Director of the Susan B. Anthony Project, said “We are honored to receive this grant for $5,000 from the Petit Family Foundation. This generous grant will enable us to help the women and children in our community who are victims of domestic and sexual violence find safety and counseling as they begin to rebuild their lives.”
