Dear Friend of the Petit Family Foundation:

With these words Dr. William Petit memorialized his wife, Jennifer Lynn Hawke-Petit, and his daughters Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit and created the Petit Family Foundation to honor their memory and continue the kindness, idealism and activism that defined their lives.

These recent weeks and months have been particularly challenging as the initial judicial process begins to approach closure. During this difficult time the shining stars that were Jennifer-Hawke Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit, and Michaela Rose Petit, what they represent and what was lost once again comes clearly into focus. The emotional and spiritual support provided by so many during this difficult time remains deeply moving and greatly appreciated. In memory of these three remarkable women, the Foundation’s mission remains that of fostering the education of young people, especially women in the sciences; to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illness and to support efforts to protect and help those affected by violence.
