‘Fleming’s Night of Giving’ raises $11,000 for Petit Family Foundation

Sunday, September 4, 2011

WEST HARTFORD — Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar recently hosted a fundraising dinner benefiting the Petit Family Foundation.

A total of $11,000 was raised through a four-course dinner paired with the fine wines of Farmington’s WINAM Wines’ American Boutique Collection and a silent auction. One hundred percent of the evening’s proceeds went to The Petit Family Foundation, a charitable fund established in honor of the memories of Jennifer Hawke-Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit.

“Fleming’s has made a long-term commitment to giving back to our local community,” says Ed Ferreira, operating partner. “This event was an excellent opportunity for us to give back in our own way – by creating an event honoring the memories Jennifer Hawke-Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit and supporting a cause important to the Petit Family.”

The Petit Family Foundation was established to continue the kindness, idealism and activism that defined the Petit family. The funds are given to foster the education of young people, especially women in the sciences; to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illnesses; and to support efforts to protect and help those affected by violence.
