Hospital of Central Connecticut physician receives Petit award


The Hospital of Central Connecticut has given Dr. David Krugman its  Dr. William A. Petit Jr. Physician Service Award.

Petit presented the award at a recent meeting of the medical staff, and Krugman's name has been placed on a plaque in the lobby.

The award goes to physician on the medical staff for extraordinary commitment and service to the to the hospital, the community, the medical staff or patients.

Krugman  is a retired Hospital of Central Connecticut pathologist . The hospital says he is a long-time American Red Cross volunteer and that he continues to help organize the hospital’s blood drives.

He was chief of pathology and the blood bank director at the former New BritainGeneral Hospital, and in 2004 became its interim   senior vice president of Medical Affairs.
