Cheshire kicks off annual Lights of Hope BY QUANNAH LEONARD | REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN

CHESHIRE -- Shortly before 3 this afternoon, volunteers, residents and others branched out on Route 10 between Route 68 and Cheshire High School, placing luminarias along a one-mile stretch.

It's part of the annual Cheshire Lights of Hope fundraiser. Proceeds this year benefit the Petit Family Foundation, Cheshire Youth and Social Services, Cheshire Community Food Pantry and the Cheshire Lights of Hope Scholarship Fund.

Sales of luminarias continue this afternoon. The Mile of Hope display is at 4 p.m., with a luminaria lighting to follow across town at 5.
