Petit family member died unexpectedly on Friday

 

Dennis Chapman, brother-in-law of William Petit, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 15, 2013.

Chapman’s wife, Johanna Chapman is the sister of William Petit, and he was the uncle of Hayley and Michaela. Chapman was involved with the Petit Family Foundation Michaela’s Garden Project, which collected seeds from Michaela’s four-o-clock’s and sold the seeds as a fundraiser for the family foundation.

 

“He made a wide circle of friends with farmers and garden clubs throughout the state and at the Connecticut Science Center,” Chapman’s obituary reads . “A strong, quiet and gentle soul, Dennis approached everything in life whole-heartedly.”

 

Chapman was born and raised in Blue Springs Nebraska and served in the Navy. Chapman met his wife in Pennsylvania and the two moved to Connecticut to start their family. Chapman has two children, Abby and Andrew. Chapman worked for the Connecticut Lottery until his retirement in 2007. Check the obituary section later this afternoon for information and service hours.
