Petit Family Foundation awards $5,000 to Bristol Boys & Girls Club Family Center

The Petit Family Foundation has awarded a grant of $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center to underwrite the SMART Girls Program.
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
“The Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center is an outstanding nonprofit that provides the skills and mentoring for today’s youth to become the leaders of tomorrow,” said William A. Petit Jr..
