November 12, 2010The HAYLEY10 Long Sleeve Shirt
“With all of the media and the trial going on right now it has been very hard to focus on the positive parts of Hayley Petit’s life. One of the most important things that we need to do right now is remember who the girls were when they were with us. To help remember Hayley, I have designed new long sleeve t-shirts. On the back of the shirt it says, Hayley10. As many of you know, Hayley was an amazing rower for Miss Porter’s School, and was going to continue that at Dartmouth College. When you are in a regatta and you are trying to pull in front of another boat, your coxswain calls a “Power10.” The Power10 is when the rowers use all of their strength and all of their heart to move their boat past the other boats in 10 strokes. Hayley was one of the strongest rowers and every time a Power10 was called she would put so much strength and heart into her strokes that the boat would often turn because she had too much power. A “Hayley10” is much stronger than a Power10 and helped the Miss Porter’s Crew team win many regattas. I have a Hayley10 shirt already, and when I wear the t-shirt I feel that Hayley is with me helping me through my life and the difficult times we are going through. Please buy a Hayley10 t-shirt to help keep Hayley’s strength and love with us all.” —Rebekah Greer-Carney, November 2010 Bekah was a coxswain at Miss Porters School and a teammate/classmate of Hayley. She is doing this to raise money for the Hayley Elizabeth Petit ‘07 Scholarship. To order a shirt: The long sleeve will be ordered on Friday, December 3 and all checks must be received by then.
